This was a really helpful and powerful idea to consider. I experience so much resistance to the idea of looking closely at the past (and at the emerging narratives therein), when there is so much adrenaline and excitement in only making new plans. That thinking has, of course, back-fired, so I’m thankful for this rekindled belief that awareness of what made me who I am is the key to actually taking steps forward. It’s the piece that so many of us miss, and I’m excited to not make the same mistake this year.

i love the imagery of the elephant and the wood post in the ground. I am not sure how many times I stare at the post, want the post to magically disappear, and wish it would be gone. most of the time for me I am not even tied to it anymore, but still I resonate so much with the post I do not want to leave it. thanks for your words today 🙂
